As I sit back and reflect to how life has been since I was delivered from active addiction, I ponder one question what has been my strength in my recovery and that’s Jesus. I have had great times even when life seems unfair, but I’ve never felt alone because He is always with me. And when times go south quick emotionally, I have come to a point and realized that where I am focused can sometimes be the difference between a victory or a challenge.
I have found it best to focus on the solution and not the problems that come our way. In 2 Timothy 1:7 the Apostle Paul writes this: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. If we focus on fear, we are in danger of relapse or we can stay stagnant. But what God gives us is Power (that is of Him) to get through tough times, Love (The love that show us we aren’t alone anymore and a sound mind (this causes us to make decisions that keep us moving in a direction that is in line with God’s will.
As for me and mine we will serve the Lord and stay clean and sober.
Peace
